3) Why is the Syn-Flex® Product Line Only Available in Liquid Form?
Syn-Flex is available in liquid form due to fact that pills and capsules are not absorbed as well as liquid. With Syn-Flex you are getting more Glucosamine to your joints and receiving is more quickly than with pills or capsules.
4) Is Syn-Flex® FDA Approved?
As a nutritional supplement, Glucosamine products are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
5) What Are the Syn-Flex® Flavors?
Syn-Flex for pets is available in a beef flavor pets love and our other Syn-Flex products are available in original flavor.
6) How Do I know How Much to Take?
We recommend that most everyone take a double dose (1/2 oz. per day) for the first 7-10 days, then use the normal dose of ¼ oz (1.5 teaspoons) per day. Those over 220 pounds may want to use a higher dose. Athletes and those using Syn-Flex® as an arthritis easing measure, or those with mild arthritis, we suggest using ¼ oz. for the first 8 weeks and then reducing it to half of that..
7) Is There Any Major Side Effects?
No clinical study has shown any common side effects to using Glucosamine or Chondroitin Sulfate which is often found in Glucosamine formulas. At least one clinical study suggests that Glucosamine may alter insulin or hemoglobin levels and alter blood sugar. However other studies have contradicted these findings. Human studies have shown that the use of Glucosamine is well tollerated by the body, at least in the short term. Some possible symptoms are reported occasionally from using Glucosamine may be from over-dosing. These include stomach upset; nausea; diarrhea; constipation; and vomiting. Reports of these do appear to be extremely rare and tend to resolve quickly. There have been some reports of increased risk of bleeding for those who are taking warfarin or similar medications you should talk to your doctor. Also, if you take ginkgo biloba, garlic, clover, or vitamin E you should discontinue them before taking Glucosamine. So it seems that Glucosamine is effective and safe for its intended use and dose with rare exceptions.
